LSU is an equal
LSU Today Flagship Faculty
What was your previous position and where?I began my academic career at LSU.
What brought you to LSU?When I interviewed for my position, it was wonderful to witness the passion and excitement from both students and faculty, not only for theatre but towards each other. I wanted to be a part of an academic family with strong ambitions that I could share, and LSU had those qualities I was looking for.
What is your research interest?Sound technology and design.
What do you hope to accomplish at LSU?I look forward to establishing a strong undergraduate student enrollment in sound technology and design, and to create M.F.A. program for sound technology and design. I also would like to expand our sound inventory, allowing our students an opportunity with current sound technologies.
What do you enjoy most about LSU?My students! They are an enthusiastic and curious bunch who live with big dreams and desires. I enjoy being a part of these Tigers that bleed purple and live gold. I also enjoy the school spirit and its loyal supporters.
What are your major accomplishments?I was the primary coordinator when the Department of Theatre was invited to participate in the Young Theatre Festival in Seoul, South Korea. As the only American university to participate in the festival, LSU theatre brought 38 students and faculty to travel and perform amongst 49 other Korean universities. My sound design work was featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, at the 2011 Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space in Seoul, and both Shanghai and Beijing in China. I was also the recipient of the Tiger Athletic Foundation President's Award in 2011.
