LSU is an equal
LSU Today Flagship Faculty
What was your previous position and where?LSU was my first job. I was a graduate student at the University of Minnesota before then.
What brought you to LSU?The wonderful warm weather in Baton Rouge.
What is your research interest?Clean energy; gas turbines; computational & experimental fluid dynamics; combustion & heat transfer
What do you hope to accomplish at LSU?Establish a world class research program in the area of gas turbines, energy, computational fluid dynamics
What do you enjoy most about LSU?The good weather in Baton Rouge, Louisiana's culture and food, my colleagues in mechanical engineering and the college, the outstanding research program and laboratories I have established in my research area here at LSU and the Turbine Innovation and Energy Research (TIER) Center.
What are your major accomplishments? In the nearly 25-plus years I have been at LSU, I have established a nationally recognized research program in the area of energy, gas turbines and computational fluid dynamics. Before I came to LSU, there was virtually no activity in these areas, so, starting from ground zero, we have built a program that now generates a lot of enquiries from graduate students across the world, successfully competes for large federal grants and often recieves requests from companies to undertake projects or provide them trained students for employment.
