"Writing" Past Wrongs

In a world of instantaneous communication - Twitter, Facebook and headline tickers - timeliness is one of the most relevant aspects of modern journalism. The idea of getting the day's top story first is paramount, but five students in LSU's Manship School of Mass Communication spent a week last spring digging through the National Archives in Washington, D.C., researching cold case civil rights murders in rural Louisiana in the 1960s. More >>

LSU Calendar Migrating to New Provider April 16
On Monday, April 16, the university will be changing the main online calendar provider in preparation for the retirement of the PAWS system on Thursday, May 31. All of the items that have been entered into the currrent calendar system will transfer to the new calendar system when the change is made. However, the current PAWS calendar will become permanently inaccessible. If you or your department currently utilize a personal or departmental calendar through PAWS, you will need to transfer any items you wish to save to a new calendar system prior to April 16. If you have any questions, please contact Melissa Foley at mfoley@lsu.edu or 225-578-3869.

Employee Recognition Program 

The 21st Annual Employee Recognition Program will be held on Wednesday, May 2, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Lod Cook Alumni Center. This event will honor those loyal employees who have achieved 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years of service at LSU. Light refreshments begin at 9:30 a.m., and the program begins at 10:00 a.m. All employees to be honored are invited to attend with one guest and their department head, director or dean.
