LSU to Test Emergency Text Messaging System
LSU's Emergency Operations Center will test its emergency text messaging system on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 9 a.m. LSU's emergency text messaging system allows students, staff and faculty to receive emergency alerts or information via text message on their mobile phone. Participation in the emergency text messaging system is not mandatory but encouraged. There is no fee to subscribe, but users will still have to pay regular text messaging rates through their cellular provider. LSU Sesquicentennial Ornament Now on Sale
In 2010, LSU celebrates its 150th anniversary, or sesquicentennial. This inaugural ornament, featuring the Memorial Tower, helps commemorate this milestone. Every fall LSU will introduce a new ornament creating a collectible series. All of the proceeds will be directed to the new Campus Beautification Fund. The LSU Sesquicentennial ornament can be purchased for $20 online at www.LSUornament.com, or by completing a downloadable form also available at www.LSUornament.com and mailing the completed form and payment to the LSU Foundation.
