I invite quality projects on topics of interest to a general audience, particularly any aspect of Louisiana or the greater Gulf and south central regions—including native culture, music, travel, biography, nature, recreation, outdoors, sports, architecture, and gardening, among others. Guidebooks are especially sought. Works that are not geared to a geographic region but have a logical fit with our list will also be considered. Electronic/online projects are welcome. If in doubt, send me an e-mail or letter of inquiry.

Proposals should be submitted by mail, not e-mail, and should include

  1. a descriptive summary of the project, its aim, its intended audience, and suggested marketing methods
  2. a chapter draft if available, or another writing sample if not
  3. a current bio or resume
  4. samples of proposed illustrations if applicable (photocopies are fine)

For photography books, please send sample prints or a disk with digital images. Response time to proposals averages four to six weeks.
