EDUCATION
The
need for science education, especially as it pertains to the stewardship
of coastal environments and natural resources, is more urgent
than ever. To promote wise management, use and conservation of
Louisiana’s rich coastal resources, Louisiana Sea Grant
uses current and traditional teaching technologies to produce
science-based materials for formal K-12 classrooms and workshops
for teachers and informal educators. These materials provide accurate
information about marine and aquatic ecosystems, help stimulate
awareness of our close relationship to the environment and promote
careful stewardship of our natural resources.
A variety
of education resources are available at the Louisiana Marine Education
Resources (LaMER) Web site at www.lamer.lsu.edu.
