Milestone Event :
"Memory and a Sense of Place in Southern Culture"

Professors Henninger, Lowe, and Hoffman are directing the Program in Louisiana and Caribbean Studies at Louisiana State University. Dr. Ferris is the Joel R. Williamson Professor of History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Senior Associate Director at the Center for the Study of the American South, as well as a folklorist and former Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Ferris began the Program's inaugural Speaker's Series on November 12th, 2003, with his presentation, "Memory and a Sense of Place in Southern Culture."



Annual Event:
