LSU has shifted to a singular, comprehensive Course Management System called Moodle. As of December 31, 2008, we no longer support Semester Book.

Semester Book, a course management system developed by Computing Services, integrates the web with LSU's mainframe system. As students add and drop courses, the class rosters within Semester Books are updated. Since students access Semester Book through their PAWS desktops, security is also granted and revoked. This interface alleviates faculty from having to spend time on administrative tasks.

Semester Book also offers a very comprehensive grade module. An instructor has the ability to create a grading document stating the course grading scale and amount and weight of each assessment. This information allows students to obtain individual assessment grades, view an up-to-date overall course grade, and project their final course grade.

Integration with the University's Grade Posting application also provides benefits to faculty. Mid-term and final grades can easily be moved from a faculty member's Semester Book to grade sheets within the Post Grades application.
