Student organizations and University Departments can have a Public Service Announcement (PSA) posted on Student Computing Labs in order to promote university related events.
Click here to make a PSA Request.
General Guidelines:
• All PSAs must follow University rules and regulations. For rules and regulations pertaining to student organizations, visit the Center Student Leadership and Involvement at www.lsu.edu/csli.
• All PSAs must contain the name of the responsible recognized student organization or department.
• PSAs may run for up to one week (seven consecutive days) at a time.
• PSAs submitted less than 10 days before desired posting time may not be processed in time.
• In case of more PSA requests than can be accommodated, preference will be given to requests submitted first.
• In most cases, the PSA will run the week before the scheduled event.
• A departmental PSA will be approved if the event is of general importance to LSU students.
Additional Guidelines for Student Organizations:
• Student organizations must register events with the Office of the Dean of Students in order for the event to be included in the screen saver. (This includes fund raising events.)
• PSAs submitted less than 10 days before the event may not be included in the screen saver.
• If organizations are using a corporate sponsor, they must have prior approval from the Office of Finance and Administrative Services or the event cannot be included in the screen saver.
Procedures:
• Pick a desired template from 10 available templates all of which will be displayed on the PSA Webpage at www.lsu.edu/pa/pac_templates/.
• Then download the desired template and format it with the appropriate text, following the instructions provided on the Webpage.
• PSAs are submitted by Student organizations or University Departments via a web form, and the reformatted template will be uploaded and submitted for approval by a pre selected committee.* Submit your request at www.lsu.edu/pa/pac_templates/.
• PSAs are approved by a four person committee including representatives from University Relations, Information Technology Services, Office of the Dean of Students, and the Student Technology Fee Oversight Committee.
• Once approved, University Relations will include approved PSAs in the weekly screen saver.
• The finished screen saver will be deployed to Student Computing Labs every Friday evening
*The templates are designed to make each PSA unique. A sample of an acceptable PSA will be available on the PSA website. There will be a limit of seven PSAs at one time, seven consecutive days running time, and ten templates. If space permits, consecutive runs will be allowed, otherwise there will be a wait. The screen saver will consist of 15-second spots.
