In addition to offering training workshops, the Faculty Technology Center holds several types of events throughout the year. The purpose of these events is to bring together faculty, staff, and students to share knowledge, showcase technology, and build inter-departmental relationships. Listed below are the events hosted by the FTC.
Visit training.lsu.edu for a list of upcoming events and registration.
If you are interested in participating in one of the events or sharing your teaching with technology experience at a Coffee Talk, Tech Talk, or Tech Share, please contact us.
Coffee Talks showcase uses of technology in teaching, and/or research by faculty and encourages peer discussion on such topics. The atmosphere is relaxed and the coffee is free!
Tech Talks provide LSU staff, instructors, and students with information about a specific technology and ways to use it effectively in teaching and/or research.
We host Tech Shares in collaboration with specific colleges/departments, which allow attendees to see the innovative ways faculty and students use technology in their teaching or research.
Online Teaching Cohort
The Faculty Technology Center, LSU Online and the Learning and Teaching Collaborative worked together to form the Online Teaching Cohort. The Online Teaching Cohort explores important topics in teaching and learning in the online environment – including blended courses. Participants share ideas, experiences, concerns, challenges, and ask questions or seek advice and assistance amongst a group of peers. The primary purpose of this cohort is to create an environment to engage the LSU campus community in discussions and activities in which members can share and learn online teaching strategies and practices to enhance their courses.
Find out more about the Online Teaching Cohort, or join by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
