IT Security Assessments
The IT Security and Policy Office can perform an assessment of the state of information security within a university department. The IT security assessment team can analyze the current information technology environment in a department against standard best practices, such as those defined by LSU Policy Statements, University System Permanent Memoranda, State of Louisiana Office of Technology Services (OTS) policies, and industry standards such as ISO 27002. The assessment team can examine many aspects of information security including physical security, protection of sensitive data, security of administrative practices, and the overall health and security of computers across a department.
Here are some of the things that are reviewed and assessed:
- User and computer controls and administration through Active Directory Group Policy.
- Network and computer vulnerability assessment.
- Detailed IT security assessment of departmental servers.
- Physical IT security review.
