The AEEYD programs offer both the Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D.). The Master's degree is available with both thesis and non-thesis options. Course content and teaching methods used in Graduate courses are designed to assist students in the development of strong professional knowledge and skills. Graduate students are encouraged to custom design their degree program in consultation with their graduate advisor.
Students may build unique areas of expertise into their program such as:
Adult Learning; Program Planning; Program Evaluation; Needs
Assessment; Research Design; International Agriculture; Youth
Learning; Distance Education; Instructional Delivery Strategies ;
Learner-Centered Instructional Design; and Many Other Possibilities
Master of Science
Full admission will be granted when a student meets the
normal entrance requirements set by the Graduate School and upon
submission of three letters of recommendation. Provisional and
probationary admission will follow the guidelines of the Graduate
School. The standards apply to both thesis and non-thesis options.
Doctor of Philosophy
The student must meet the minimum Graduate School
admission requirements. In addition, the student must receive a
minimum score of 6000 using the School's graduate admission formula
(GRE*UGPA) + (GRE*GGPA)=6000. Students must score at least 900 on
the GRE (verbal and quantitative scores added together).
The student must submit at least three letters of recommendation and evidence of appropriate professional experience. A student may be required to demonstrate acceptable performance in an entrance interview. Where required, the interview will be conducted by appropriate faculty from the school.

Admission Status
· Full admission status means that you have been admitted and are not on probation or under any provisions.
· Provisional admission status means that you have been admitted but something was missing from your record (GRE Scores, official transcripts, etc.) and will be required before you will be switched to full admission status.
· Probationary admission status means that you did not meet some requirement (GPA, GRE Scores, etc.). The next semester you must be enrolled in graded course work and make a 3.0 GPA.

The requirements for master's degree is three committee members selected by you.
Doctoral students committees consists of five members Four are chosen by the student and one member is chosen by the Graduate School (Deans Representative). The graduate Dean's representative stays a part of your committee until you graduate or they retire. Each committee must have at least two full members of the graduate faculty on all doctoral committees.
Degree Plans in the AEEYD concentration are custom fit to a student's career goals, allowing you enough flexibility to take advantage of the numerous opportunities LSU has to offer, while at the same time allowing you to attain a strong knowledge in a core HRE curriculum. Specific questions about your degree plans should be referred to your advisor or graduate committee chair.
Students at either the M.S. or Ph.D. are eligible for graduate assistantships. Application letters should be submitted to the Director, School of Human Resource Education and Workforce Development. Graduate assistantships, when available, are available to qualified students on a competitive basis.
Students on assistantships are expected to maintain a GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 and register for at least 9.0 semester hours in the fall and spring semesters, and 6.0 semester hours for the summer semester. Graduate assistants will be provided either research or teaching experience or both. Specifics regarding the duties will be discussed with the graduate coordinator and Director of the School.
