University Toasts Rainmakers
LSU recently named 100 outstanding research and creative faculty as its first group of Rainmakers. In the university context, Rainmakers are those who are nationally and internationally recognized for innovative research and creative scholarship, who compete for external funding at the highest levels and who attract and mentor exceptional graduate students.
In appreciation of the Rainmakers' high-profile scholarly activities, the university held its first annual Rainmakers Gala on Oct. 15, 2008.
