Michael V. Martin spoke to a group of incoming freshmen on his first day as chancellor of LSU. Standing before LSU’s annual STRIPES program, Martin told the new students that he expected that “over the next four years, we will all grow through this experience together.” STRIPES stands for Student Tigers Rallying, Interacting and Promoting Education and Service. The STRIPES program, a freshman tradition, allows incoming students to make new friends and learn the history and tradition of the university in a fun atmosphere.
