Incoming students learn about the LSU transition

Approximately 3,500 students received their first taste of life as an LSU student this summer as the University held its annual orientation programs. Through six sessions hosted in June and July, incoming freshmen and transfer students along with their parents were able to learn about life on LSU's campus.

The LSU Office of Orientation, along with the LSU Ambassadors, conducted the sessions, in which the students watched presentations on every facet of university life, toured the campus and university bookstore as well as scheduled classes. A roundtable question-and-answer panel was conducted for parents to discuss any questions they may have about the transition.

Students received tips on the high school-to-college transition – learning about resident halls and student organizations; study skills; class scheduling and how to navigate their chosen academic path; purchasing books; and how to make their way around campus.
