The Stephensons
Emmet & Toni Stephenson met when they were five-year-olds in Bastrop, Louisiana. Little did they know that someday they would be married and embark on a lifelong journey that would have a transformational effect on their alma mater.
LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business and the School of Veterinary Medicine are the direct beneficiaries of the Stephensons’ generosity.
Emmet Stephenson graduated magna cum laude from LSU in 1967, receiving a bachelor of science from the E. J. Ourso College. He also graduated with an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Stephenson is the founder and president of the private investment firm Stephenson and Company and a senior partner in the private equity company Stephenson Ventures. He has been inducted into the LSU Alumni Association Hall of Distinction, the LSU Kappa Sigma Fraternity Hall of Distinction, and the E. J. Ourso College of Business Hall of Distinction.
Toni Stephenson also earned a bachelor of science from LSU in 1967 and graduated from the Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management Program. She is the founder and president of General Communication, Inc. and was the founder and director of Charter Bank and Trust. The Stephensons serve on the Harvard Business School’s Board of Dean’s Advisors and are recognized in both Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World.Sandra Stepongzi | Student Writer |
