Students within the LSU Honors College will tell you they were accepted into some of the most prestigious schools in the nation. They will also tell you that choosing to attend a state school such as LSU was one of the best decisions they ever made. The LSU Honor's College provides a unique experience for intellectually motivated students who wish to pursue an enriched academic curriculum, along with dynamic college experiences in and out of the classroom.  This "campus-within-a-campus" includes LSU's historical French House and the adjacent residential hall, Laville Honors House. Students spend their first two years under the protection of nationally known faculty and a caring and supportive staff. The LSU Honors College provides small classes, study-abroad opportunities, interdisciplinary seminars taught by outstanding faculty, campus activities that form lasting friendships, and a family-like atmosphere to shape and mold future leaders and scholars. This individualized attention has consistently produced National Science Foundation and Goldwater scholars, and prepares the majority of its students for advanced degrees. Honors College students reside in the Laville Honors House, a residential community only steps away from their classes. Along with the convenience factor, students organize the kind of fun activities that make college life so memorable. They have parties, attend athletic events, hang out, participate in student activities, and take road trips.
