Top High School Students from Baton Rouge Area Recognized on LSU’s Campus Earlier this year, more than 80 high school valedictorians and top graduates from Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas were recognized on the LSU campus for their outstanding academic achievements. The students were selected as part of the “Best of the Class” program. Sponsored each year by the Baton Rouge television station WAFB-9, the program highlights some of the most academically gifted students in southeast Louisiana. Of those graduates recognized in May, more than 65 percent have chosen to attend LSU. The students represented schools from many parishes, including East and West Baton Rouge as well as Iberville, Ascension, St. Tammany, Livingston, Point Coupee, and the Feliciana Parishes.
