LSU Gymnastics Team Hosts
NCAA Regionals
The LSU gymnastics team, with the help of a perfect 10 score from senior
gymnast Nicki Arnstad, won the National Collegiate Athletic Association
(NCAA) Central Regional Championship on April 6. This year's regionals
were held at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, marking the third time
in seven years that a regional gymnastics competition was held in Baton
Rouge.
The win was LSU's second NCAA regional title. LSU won the same title
in 1986, when the Tigers also hosted the event.
Prior to the regional victory, coach D-D Breaux's team finished fourth
at the 2002 Southeastern Conference Championships and had moved into sixth
place in the national rankings.
