The Lod Cook Alumni Center
The Lod Cook Alumni Center has been called one of the most successful
new constructions on the LSU campus, blending the architectural elements
of the original campus with more modern sensibilities. The red-tiled roof,
elegant arches, and stately columns of the center reflect the architecture
of the Main Quadrangle, while the glass panels and flexible interior space
give the building a contemporary twist. Dedicated in 1994, the Lod Cook
Alumni Center exemplifies the goals of the new Campus Master Plan, to
be unveiled in 2003. The plan will help define LSUs future growth
by calling for a return to the influences of the original architecture,
updated to meet the technological needs of the future. The Lod Cook Alumni
Center is home to the LSU Alumni Association and the LSU Foundation.
