The Tiger Rag LSU and Tulane worked together to revive a 61-year-old tradition, the Tiger Rag. The Tiger Rag is a satin flag divided diagonally, featuring the two universities' logos and colors, with the Louisiana state seal in the center. For more than 40 years the flag was passed to the winning team to hold until the next LSU-Tulane football game. The tradition ended in 1982, when the flag was destroyed in a fire at Tulane. In 2001 a new Tiger Rag was reconstructed based on archive photos, and on September 1 the two teams clashed for control of the ball. LSU, the victor, will have custody of the flag until the teams meet again next year. Last updated January 2002
