The BP Oil Spill of 2010

Our team has conducted four surveys, so far, of Gulf Coast residents in the aftermath of the BP Oil Spill of 2010.

    • We have done 3 survey waves in coastal Zip codes, which is more targeted to the affected population than our first survey of coastal counties/parishes:

      • Wave 1: June-July 2010, N=935
      • Wave 2: October 2010, N=1,103
      • Wave 3: March 2011, N=1,027

      • A research report, based on the first wave survey, "Health Impacts of Deepwater Horizon Oil Disaster on Coastal Louisiana Residents," here.

      • A poster of selected results from Waves 1-3, "Assessing the Health and Resilience of Human Populations in the Louisiana Coastal Region in the Context of the BP Deepwater Horizon Disaster," here.

    • A research report on the coastal counties/parishes from LA to FL, from a survey conducted May 21 to June 12, "The View from the Coast: A Survey of 924 Coastal Residents on the 2010 Gulf Oil Spill," here.
