Dr. Witoon Prinyawiwatkul, Professor of Food Science, LSU AgCenter, was invited to deliver a short course "Advanced Sensory Discrimination Tests" at the Universidad Autonoma Chapingo, Texcoco, Mexico, during October 12-13, 2009. Participants (28) were from academia and food industries. As part of his visit, Dr. Prinyawiwatkul discussed further possible teaching and research collaboration with Dr. Arturo Hernandez Montes, Departamento de Ingenieria Agroindustrial, the Universidad Autonoma Chapingo. He also visited with Dr. José Andrés Herrera Corredor, our Food Science Alumni, at Colegio de Postgraduados, Campus Córdoba in Veracruz to follow up with the ongoing collaborative research project on sensory testings with children. This international project involves collaborators from Honduras, Mexico and Thailand. Ms. Karen Garcia, a Ph.D. student, is working on this project for her dissertation research. |
