Chancellor's Alumni Scholarships
These scholarships, funded through endowments made to the
University by Gordon A. Cain and Fred H. Fenn, are LSU's most
prestigious awards. Each year ten students are selected to
receive the Chancellor's Alumni Scholarship.
Qualifications:
-
To be considered for this award,
a candidate must have either a Critical Reading and Math
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) score of at least 1440 or a composite American College Test (ACT) score of at
least 33, as well as, a 3.5 computed grade point average.
-
Students
meeting the above qualifications are eligible for
consideration for this prestigious award. The pool of
candidates will be evaluated based on their academic
credentials, including standardized test scores, essay
portion of the SAT or ACT, and high school GPA.
Award:

Each recipient
will choose either:
-
A cash award of $12,000 ($3,000 per year).
or
-
A cash award of $4,000 ($1,000 per year) and a room &
board scholarship valued at approximately $25,200
($6,300 per year). The room & board scholarship covers
the cost of a two student room and the Resident Tiger
meal plan.
-
Recipients
also have the opportunity to earn an additional $6,200
($1,550 per year) through participation in the
Chancellor's Future Leaders in Research
program. Through this
program students are assigned to work with individual
faculty members engaged in research projects. The student
may choose the Chancellor's Student Aide position in lieu of
the research program.

Each recipient
will receive a cash stipend of $2,000 toward the cost of an
approved Study Abroad program which may be utilized at any
time throughout the duration of the scholarship.

Resident students receiving this award are also eligible to receive the LSU National Scholar's Award which covers the tuition fee.

Nonresident
students receiving this award are eligible to receive a
Golden Oaks
award which covers tuition and the nonresident fee.

LSU Alumni Association (Top 100) Scholarships
Qualifications:

Any student with a combined
Critical Reading and Math SAT score of 1440
or a composite ACT score of 33 as well as a 3.5 computed
grade point average is eligible for this award.

Any student with a combined
Critical Reading and Math SAT score of 1400
or a composite ACT score of 32 as well as a 4.0 computed
grade point average is eligible for this award.

Any student with a combined
Critical Reading and Math SAT score of 1400
or a composite ACT score of 32 as well as a superior
computed grade point average is eligible for consideration.
Award:

A cash award
in the amount of $8,000 ($2,000 per year).

An opportunity to participate in either the
Chancellor's Future Leaders in Research program or to become
a Chancellor's Student Aide and earn up to $6,200 ($1,550
per year) working in a campus job.

Nonresident students receiving this award are eligible to
receive a
Golden Oaks
award which covers tuition and the nonresident fee.
Special Notice: Students qualifying as National Merit Finalists
(college-sponsored) who have indicated LSU as their first choice
and who also meet the above requirements for the LSU Alumni
Association (TOP 100) Award will have the option of choosing the
scholarship initially awarded to them, or an on-campus room and
board scholarship which covers the cost of a two-student,
residence hall room valued at $19,600 ($4,900 per year) and the
Resident Tiger meal plan valued at $12,512 ($3,128 per year) for
a total value of $32,112 ($8,028 per year).

LSU Distinguished Freshman Awards
Qualifications:

National Merit Finalists (college sponsored) who have
indicated LSU as their first-choice institution are eligible
for this award.
Award:
-
A cash award
ranging in value from $3,000 to $8,000 ($750 to $2,000 per
year based on financial need).

An opportunity
to participate in either the
Chancellor's Future Leaders in Research program or to become
a Chancellor’s Student Aide and earn up to $6,200 ($1,550
per year) working in a campus job.

Students receiving this award are eligible to receive another merit scholarship if the scholarship criteria is met.

LSU National Scholar's
Qualifications:
To be eligible for consideration for the LSU National Scholars’
Award, students must meet the following requirements:

Must be eligible for admission to LSU.

Must score in the 80th percentile of the PSAT, SAT or ACT and/or
rank in the top 10% of their high school class.

Must also be recognized as a finalist or semifinalist in a

Tiger Scholars
Qualifications:

Nonresident
students with a combined Critical Reading and Math SAT score
of 1170 or a composite ACT score of 26 as well as a 3.0
computed grade point average are eligible to receive this
award.
Award:

Students with a 26-27 ACT or 1170-1240 combined critical
reading and math SAT score and 3.0 GPA will receive half an
exemption from the nonresident fee.

Students with a 28-29 ACT or 1250-1320 combines critical reading and math SAT score and a 3.0 computed GPA will receive a full exemption from the nonresident fee.

Legacy Scholarships
Qualifications:

Bengal Legacy Scholarships are available for nonresident sons and
daughters of an LSU System school graduate. To qualify, an applicant must be classified as
a nonresident undergraduate student (no previous degree), must
be the natural, adopted, or step child of a graduate of any LSU
System school, and must qualify for admission to the University.

Board of Supervisors Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of individual members of
the LSU Board of Supervisors for undergraduate students in the
amount of undergraduate tuition and graduate/professional
students in the amount of graduate tuition. A limited number of
nonresident fee exemptions are available to qualified
undergraduate students. Applications for these awards may be
obtained on the
LSU Board of Supervisors website or from the
Office of Student Aid and Scholarships. Students receiving a
TOPS award are not eligible for consideration in the fall and
spring semesters.

of Agriculture Scholarships
A number of awards are available to students who plan to major in
any curriculum offered through the College of Agriculture. These
scholarships range in value from $500 to $2,000. Applications

Scholarships are offered to incoming freshmen based on Math and
Science SAT or ACT scores and high school grade point average.
For consideration, indicate engineering as your intended major
on the Application for Undergraduate Admission and apply by

Fee Exemptions for Sons and Daughters of Deceased Faculty Members
These awards include exemption from all University-assessed
undergraduate fees for sons and daughters of faculty members who
had five or more years of full-time service in the LSU System at
the time of death. Apply to the Human Resource Management Office

International Students
A limited number of scholarships are awarded to international
students each fall semester. Scholarships for first-time
freshmen include awards which cover tuition and the nonresident
fee, as well as, awards that apply to the nonresident fee only.
Transfer students are awarded scholarships that which apply to
the nonresident fee only. Amounts vary based on academic
credentials. Students applying for international scholarships
must submit the application for admission, transcripts, test
scores, and all other required information by January 1 - for
the fall semester and October 1 - for the spring semester. Awards are made on the basis of academic
records: high school records, college transcripts, TOEFL, SAT
and /or ACT scores. Letters of recommendation, awards,
activities and evidence of financial need are not considered.
LSU has high standards for all international applicants, and
scholarships are awarded only to the top applicants.

Legislative Act 353 of the 1974 Regular Session
Under Legislative Act 353, children of policemen and firemen killed
or permanently disabled in the line of duty in Louisiana (who
register as full-time students) receive an exemption from
tuition, on-campus room and board and a book allowance. Complete

to apply and return to the LSU Office of Student Aid and
Scholarships.

(LA-STEM) Research Scholars Program - Office of Strategic
Initiatives
Twenty awards; amounts includes on-campus room and board as well as
a cash stipend; recipients must have 23 ACT or equivalent SAT
score and a 3.5 grade point average, plans to major in a STEM
area, commitment to diversity in the STEM disciplines, and
interest in research and mentoring; nomination by high school

Manship Scholarships
Three to six Manship Scholars will receive awards of $3,000 per
academic year. Students who plan to major in mass communication
and who meet certain academic qualifications, including a
minimum ACT score of 26 or equivalent SAT score, are eligible

ROTC Scholarships
General Information
Student contemplating military careers should request information
about the scholarships offered through the armed forces' Reserve
Officers' Training Corps (ROTC). Students can enroll in the Army
or Air Force ROTC programs at LSU or cross-enroll in the Navy
ROTC program at Southern University.
