How to Apply for Entering Freshman Scholarships

Steps to Apply

Step 1: Apply for Admission to LSU before November 15

LSU’s application for admission also serves as the application for all University scholarships. Entering freshmen must submit a completed admission application on or before November 15 of their senior year in high school to receive full priority scholarship consideration.

Step 2: Submit all Test Scores & Transcripts before November 15

Entering freshmen must submit an official high school transcript and official standardized test scores on or before November 15 of their senior year in high school to receive full priority scholarship consideration. All materials must be received or postmarked by November 15 to ensure full consideration.

Step 3: Get Accepted to LSU

An applicant must be regularly accepted to LSU to be considered for scholarships. Applicants do not have to be accepted by November 15 to be eligible for scholarships.

Priority Deadline Information

Applicants Meeting the Priority Deadline

Students who meet the November 15 priority date will be considered for scholarships in the first round of reviews. It is the intent of LSU to award all eligible students who meet the priority deadline the applicable scholarship as long as funds are available.

Applicants Not Meeting the Priority Deadline

Students who do not meet the priority deadline will be considered for scholarships until all funding has been awarded or until April 15, whichever occurs first. This excludes the Stamps Scholarship and President's Alumni Scholars Award.

Scholarship Upgrade

Students who submit higher ACT or SAT scores after the November 15 priority deadline will be considered for a scholarship offer or scholarship upgrade on a rolling basis. Students will be considered until all funding has been awarded or until April 15, whichever occurs first. This excludes the Stamps Scholarship and President's Alumni Scholars award.
