You would like to get in better shape, but
youre not sure you have time to fit exercise into your day. Realize that any new habit is difficult to
establish at first, but it can be done.
Here are a few tips to squeeze in fitness on those hectic days!
Set small goals for
yourself to help make sure you stick with it.
Plan exercise into you
day. Look at your schedule and make
an appointment to exercise. Plan a schedule
with your husband and/or babysitter where you can fit in some fitness either
by yourself or with your husband or friend.
Grab a partner. Work out with your spouse and or friend
and use that time to catch up on the day.
Set up a support network. Start a walking group with coworkers or
neighbors.
Work out with your
baby in a front pack or in a stroller.
Get up before your
baby and workout to a fitness program on television or use a video.
Put the baby in a
bouncy seat on the floor in front of you while you walk on a treadmill or
work out to an exercise video. Your
movements just might amuse the baby!
Work out during the
baby's nap. Use this time to do some
light weight lifting, stretches or an exercise video. Take some quiet time for yourself too.
Put on some great
music and dance around with the baby.
Make it fun for the both of you.
Work out on your lunch
breaks.
Use a stair climber or
take the stairs at home or at the office.
Find an exercise class
that offers childcare.
Do
what you can. Even 5-10minute bursts
of activity a few times a day can add up.
