The control room for the Manship
School television studio boasts all digital state-of-the-art equipment.
Student reported stories are run from an Avid AirSpace
server, eliminating the need for videotape playback. This facility
still offers tape playback using formats including Sony DVCam, Sony
Beta, SVHS and VHS. All switching, graphics, audio and producing
are controlled from this room. The studio is connected via fiber-optic
cable to the Cox Communications head-end in Baton Rouge. It is also
connected via fiber optics to the Holliday Forum in the Journalism
Building next door. The Forum has 3 robotic Sony cameras and Frezzi
robotic mounts.
