Evaluation Criteria for Persuasive Letters
07/15/2008Following are the criteria I will be using to grade your persuasive letters. You should also use these criteria when critiquing assignments during group and peer evaluations.
- Is it clear what the writer wants from the reader?
- Has the writer made it easy for the reader to comply with his/her wishes?
- Is the central appeal effective given the audience? Is it too broad to be meaningful?
- Does the writer offer enough persuasive evidence to get the reader to comply with his/her wishes?
- Is the writing reader-centered?
- Is the document free of errors in grammar and spelling?
- Is the document free of awkward and wordy phrasing?
- Does the writer adhere to standard letter format?
