Research of Childhood Mailing ListProfessors who study childhood at Louisiana State University (LSU) have a low-volume discussion mailing list. Childhood can be examined from many different perspectives across many departments (e.g., psychology, education, literature, economics, sociology, anthropology, health). Childhood research includes every phase of life from conception to the emergence of adulthood. We can use this list to:
Any professor at LSU may join the list by sending an e-mail to listserv@listserv.lsu.edu with the subject "SUBSCRIBE CHILD-L your name." Please cc the message to me ( grobman@lsu.edu ). In the body of your message, make the first line "SUBSCRIBE CHILD-L your name." and the second line the web page address to your department's official page about you. I have set up the list so that attachments are permissible. This allows us to send copies of proposals to one another for editing and it allows us to send posters for talks (e.g., PDF files). Unfortunately, this also makes it possible to send computer viruses. Some viruses infect a computer and send themselves to everyone in your address book. That means we can get a virus in a message that appears to be from someone we trust. Only open attachments if the sender explicitly mentions its relevance to the list in the body of the message. Be skeptical of generic messages like "for your review" and ask the sender if you are unsure. |
