LSU Online MS in Construction Management Ranked 11th in U.S. News & World Report's 2017 Best Online Programs Rankings


BATON ROUGE – In U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 Best Online Programs ranking, both the LSU Online MS in construction management and LSU Online Flores MBA Program are highly ranked. The LSU Online MS in construction management is ranked 8th among public colleges and universities and 11th overall on the list of 65 ranked programs. LSU Online Flores MBA Program is tied for 38th among public colleges and universities and tied for 47th overall on its list of 239 ranked programs.

“We are pleased to see that our programs are getting recognized nationally by U.S. News & World Report,” said Louanne Bergman, LSU director of online programs. “Our programs are only a few years old and for them to already be highly ranked shows the dedication of our faculty and staff in making these programs the best we can for people looking for an online educational opportunity.”

The LSU Online MS in construction management program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education, or ACCE. It offers a unique blend of leadership, construction and business management courses. It is designed to develop leaders and managers of complex building projects with mastery in the best practices contained within sustainability, building information modeling, project delivery, and decision making. There is no separate degree designation for campus or online.

In compiling the 2017 rankings, U.S. News & World Report ranked online engineering programs using five categories – student engagement (25 percent), faculty credentials and training (25 percent), peer reputation (25 percent), student services and technology (12.5 percent), and admissions selectivity (12.5 percent).

Developed by global academic leaders in construction education working in partnership with industry leaders, the LSU Online construction management degree curriculum employs state-of-the-art technology taught by certified online instructors. The MS in construction management program consists of 12 courses. Each course is seven weeks long.

The LSU Online Flores MBA Program continues to move up in the U.S. News & World Report rankings. In 2016, the online track was tied for 75th among public institutions and tied for 105th overall.

This is the second high ranking in 10 months for the Flores MBA Program by U.S. News & World Report, as the entire program was slotted No. 33 in the nation among public schools, an increase of 11 spots from the previous year, in the Best Graduate Schools ranking.

The LSU Online Flores MBA program is designed for professionals with at least five years of work experience. Recognized by some of the world’s most influential business thought leaders, this program helps students hone the leadership, management and critical analysis skills to set themselves apart in any industry. The program consists of 14 courses, each being seven weeks long.
