LSU College of Engineering to hold 2014 Society for Engineering Excellence

This month, the LSU College of Engineering will recognize its alumni and friends who have contributed significantly to the College at its Society for Engineering Excellence evening reception. Each member of the Society for Engineering Excellence has helped ensure the College is able to educate the best engineers through their commitment to support its students, faculty, and programs.

This year’s inductees include: MMR Group, Inc. represented by president/director, James “Pepper” Rutland; BASF represented by site senior vice president and general manager, Tom Yura; Oscar “Dub” and Mary Andras of the Andras Foundation; Mr. and Mrs. Rene R. Joyce, executive chair of Targa Resources; and the Guidry Foundation, established by Mark and the late Carolyn Guidry and their three children: Gayle and John Dilley, Mike and Barbara Guidry and David and Jennifer Guidry.

The Society for Engineering Excellence is a membership society founded in 2008 to formally recognize the highest level of donor philanthropy—those who have made lifetime commitments of at least $1 million to the LSU College of Engineering. The Society consists of 26 founding members: 15 alumni and friends, and 11 corporate partners.
