A BE student talks about her summer research experience:

"I’m a senior in biological engineering, and I spent my summer at Cornell University developing microstructures for the investigation of contractile forces and cytoskeletal organization in cardiac cells. I had the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art nanofabrication facility and a biomedical engineering lab there, so I used very small devices to study cell deformation and contraction. My classes at LSU gave me a solid foundation which prepared me well for this summer research experience."
