For LSU Students




SPRINGFEST is led by a group of individuals known as the SPRINGFEST Executive Board, SPRINGFEST Team Captains and Team Leaders.  These individuals are specifically trained to facilitate the weekend activities and assist the participants in navigating their LSU experience.


Position Descriptions:

  • SPRINGFEST Team Captain:  Team Captains lead a team of 3 to 4 Team Leaders and SPRINGFEST VIPS. They are direct support for the Team Leaders. 
  • SPRINGFEST Team Leaders:  Team Leaders work directly with the SPRINGFEST VIPS (VIPS are high school juniors excited to learn more about LSU and college life).  They are energetic and passionate students who are committed to their high school students’ success and experience.  They conduct room checks, assist with roll call, serve as guides etc.

  • Wednesday, January 31, 2018;  Applications Due
  • Saturday, February 17, 2018;  All Team Training Day (10am to 2pm)
  • Saturday, April 7, 2018;  All Team Training Day (10am to 2pm)
  • Thursday, April 19, 2018;  All Team Meeting (7pm)


The Application Process:

  1. Applications: Applications should be submitted online by 11:59 PM on January 31, 2018.
  2. Recommendations: One recommendation letter from a community leader, previous employer faculty or staff member should be emailed to by 11:59 PM on January 31, 2018.

Applications submitted after the deadline will not receive consideration.



  1. Academic Standing: Candidates are required to be in good academic standing with the University, which includes being a full-time, registered undergraduate student at LSU. (Students in their final semester of study who have received approval to take fewer than 12 credit hours will remain eligible for the position.) Candidates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at the time of application and must maintain this minimum GPA throughout the duration of the leadership experience. No exceptions will be made.
  2. Disciplinary Standing: Candidates are required to be in good disciplinary standing with the University. All candidates having a prior disciplinary history during their tenure as an LSU student should share that information during their interview. Having a disciplinary history with the University or with the department does not eliminate a candidate from consideration, but the nature of the incident(s) may have bearing. All candidates’ disciplinary history will be checked with the Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability.



SPRINGFEST members are required to attend training prior to SPRINGFEST Weekend. 

  • Saturday, February 17, 2018; All Team Training Day (10am to 2pm)
  • Saturday, April 7, 2018; All Team Training Day (10am to 2pm)
  • Thursday, April 19, 2018; All Team Meeting (7pm)

Additional meetings may be schedule as needed.
