SPRINGFEST Leaders

Join the SPRINGFEST TEAM!

SPRINGFEST is led by a group of individuals known as the SPRINGFEST Executive Board, SPRINGFEST Team Captains and Team Leaders.  These individuals are specifically trained to facilitate the weekend activities and assist the participants in navigating their LSU experience.

Position Descriptions

  • SPRINGFEST Chair/Co-Chair: Oversees all aspects of SPRINGFEST and works closely with the SPRINGFEST Director. If you attended SPRINGFEST or served on the board before, we strongly encourage you to apply. 
  • SPRINGFEST Logistics Chair:  Responsible for the flow of the weekend, scheduling sessions, coordinating arrangements for transportation, the kick off, site management etc.  Event planning experience is preferred, however, not required. Attention to details is highly needed.
  • SPRINGFEST Events/Training Chair: Coordinates events and trains Team Leaders and Team Captains.  Responsible for team builders, activities, group picture, and late night programming. 
  • SPRINGFEST Leadership Chair: Responsible for working and communicating information with the Team Captains, assigning task, and outlining expectations etc.
  • SPRINGFEST Team Captain:  Team Captains lead a team of 3 to 4 Team Leaders and SPRINGFEST VIPS. They are direct support for the Team Leaders. 
  • SPRINGFEST Team Leaders:  Team Leaders work directly with the SPRINGFEST VIPS.  They are energetic and passionate students who are committed to their high school students’ success and experience.  They conduct room checks, assist with roll call, serve as guides etc.

  • Wednesday, January 11, 2017 Applications Due

  • Saturday, February 4, 2017  All Team Training Day
  • Thursday, February 9, 2017 All Team Training Day

The Application Process


Applications: Applications should be submitted online by 11:59PM on January 11, 2017.
Recommendations: One recommendation letter from a community leader, previous employer faculty or staff member should be emailed to agrant10@lsu.edu by 11:59 PM on January 19, 2017.

Eligibility


Academic Standing: Candidates are required to be in good academic standing with the University, which includes being a full-time, registered undergraduate student at LSU. (Students in their final semester of study who have received approval to take fewer than 12 credit hours will remain eligible for the position.) Candidates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 at the time of application and must maintain this minimum GPA throughout the duration of the leadership experience. No exceptions will be made.
Disciplinary Standing: Candidates are required to be in good disciplinary standing with the University. All candidates having a prior disciplinary history during their tenure as an LSU student should share that information during their interview. Having a disciplinary history with the University or with the department does not eliminate a candidate from consideration, but the nature of the incident(s) may have bearing. All candidates’ disciplinary history will be checked with the Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability.


Training


SPRINGFEST members are required to attend training prior to SPRINGFEST Weekend. 

  • Thursday, January 26, 2017 Executive Board Meeting 5pm - 7pm
  • Saturday, February 4, 2017  All Team Training Day 8am - 1 pm
  • Thursday, February 9, 2017 All Team Training Day 5pm- 7 pm  

Additional Meetings 

Additional meetings may be schedule as needed.
