Support BMLI

The Black Male Leadership Initiative, or BMLI, Fellows Program is a retention and personal development program that offers support through targeted program, workshops and mentoring in three critical areas: academics, leadership development and citizenship. The BMLI Fellows Program experience focuses on the development of the whole student and encourages growth in the critical areas that are the most important for college students.

BMLI Fellows who join the program participate in a variety of programs that include:

  • Study Skills Workshops
  • Development Workshops
  • Community Service Projects
  • Leadership Conferences
  • Brother-to-Brother Retreats

Your support can assist Black males in being academically successful, securing promising careers, giving back to the underserved communities and landing top leadership roles.

Ways to Give

  • Mentors
The BMLI Fellows Program is always in need of faculty, staff, alumni and community partners that are willing to serve as mentors. If you're interested, please contact us at bmli@lsu.edu
  • Career Internships/Opportunities
If you or your company offers an internship or any other related career opportunity that may be beneficial to one of our Fellows, please contact us at bmli@lsu.edu
  • Donations
Lastly, you can give to BMLI by check, money order or online. If using the online method, you will see a section entitled “designation”.  From there, you will select “choose a fund”, and then you may select the Black Male Leadership Initiative Fellow Program. If there are any issues with this, please contact Dr. Kenya Messer at kmesser@lsu.edu
