The T.E. Patrick Dairy Improvement Center was named for Dr. T.E. Patrick who served from 1947 to 1977 as Manager of LABC and Professor of Male Reproductive Physiology. Under his direction, and in concert with efforts by Dr. H.W. (Andy) Anderson of the Cooperative Extension Service, artificial insemination and superior genetics were brought to nearly 75% of the dairy cattle in Louisiana by the time of his retirement. Dr. Pat, as he was known, also served as major advisor to many Master's and Doctoral students. He regularly taught the senior level reproductive physiology in the Department of Dairy Science.
