VLSU Community Outbound Project Summary
Sixteen students and about ten City Year Corps members worked at Pointe Coupee High School with faculty and Recovery School District employees to clean out and reorganize classrooms, as well as take much needed inventory of items collected over the years. In six hours, volunteers organized six classrooms currently being used primarily for storage in order to make the classrooms more useable for future students. They also cleaned up their stadium and field house, and fixed up the auto-mechanic shop.

Survey of Vulnerability
Dismayed by the poverty you see in Baton Rouge? Now you can help remedy the situation by participating in the Survey of Vulnerability (Feb 26-28, 2013), which involves conducting a short questionaire one-on-one with homeless people in a safe environment.

New Orleans Rebuild Project
NOLA Rebuild was a success! We have worked at three different site locations in the East New Orleans area. With 28 volunteers, we were able to donate a total of 150+ hours in helping with construction of these homes. We have made progress to the construction of these sites by painting, priming, mudding, cleaning, fixing door frames, insulating, and among other things. These homes are one step closer to be given to their owners.
