Campus Kitchens
The Campus Kitchens Project is a national program that grew out of a successful local community kitchen model that used recycled food to train unemployed adults to develop valuable work skills. Today, Campus Kitchens empowers thousands of students each year to recycle food from their cafeterias across the country, turn those donations into nourishing meals, and deliver meals to those who need it most. The LSU Campus Kitchens Project uses this model to meet hunger and nutritional needs in Baton Rouge. It also provides leadership and service opportunities to students and educational benefits to adults, seniors, children, and families in need. Through community meals, we seek to foster relationships across social, economic and generational boundaries. LSU Campus Kitchens is in its formative years and is looking for passionate individuals to help establish a strong sustainable program in the community.
