Spring Greening Day
Fri, April 26, 2013

What better way to wrap up the academic year, than with a few hours spent beautifying LSU’s campus? Volunteers will plant new flowers and shrubs, as well as lay out mulch, in the core area of campus near Tower Drive and the Quad. This year a sustainability expo with live music will also take place in Free Speech Alley.

Spring Greening Day is an annual one day service project to beautify the LSU campus. The event is coordinated in partnership with Landscape Services in support of the Green Tiger Project. Volunteers plant flowers, lay sod, spread mulch and do other landscaping tasks across campus. Students work alongside faculty and staff, providing for valuable interactions outside of the classroom.

As part of the event, a sustainability expo is held to inform and educate the LSU community about green practices and methods to help reduce their impact on our environment.
