Louisiana State University and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions & Student Aid invite you and your parents to Kickoff LSU. Kickoff LSU is a day-long open house for high school seniors.
Kickoff LSU will take place on LSU’s campus on August 31, September 7, September 14, September 28, October 12, November 9, and November 16.
Please note that registration is required to attend Kickoff LSU.
Kickoff LSU Summary
Kickoff LSU begins with a welcome session in the Student Union Theater. Following the welcome, prospective students are given the opportunity to meet with two different academic colleges. In the afternoon, guests will participate in the Pick and Choose events, where they can take tours of various campus facilities or learn more about various departments. Parking for guests is available in the Old Alex Box parking lot, with shuttles provided.
Kickoff LSU is structured around the prospective student’s desired academic programs, so each student will need to choose at least one academic college on their registration form. The link to register is located at the bottom of this page.

| 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. | Lunch on your own At check-in, you will be provided with a list of dining locations across campus. You can also choose to eat during any of the Pick and Choose events.

12:45 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. 12:45 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. 2:15 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. 3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. | Pick and Choose Events: Various Locations You will have the opportunity to “pick and choose” the events that are most appealing to your interest. Pick and Choose events may include: campus tour, admission & student aid presentation, residence hall tour, academic programs abroad presentation, honors college presentation, UREC tour, etc. A complete list, along with times and locations, will be provided at check-in |
Parking:
Parking for Kickoff LSU will be available at the Old Alex Box parking lot located on Skip Bertman Drive. Upon arriving on campus, signage will be available to help guide you to the designated parking area. Shuttles will be available to escort you from the Old Alex Box parking lot to the Union Theater for check-in. Please see below for specific driving directions to the Old Alex Box parking lot.
If you are using a GPS navigation system, enter the intersection of Nicholson Drive and Skip Bertman Drive as your destination. Be sure to print the directions below in case your GPS directs you to drive through campus, which is restricted from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Hotel Accommodations:
A block of rooms has been reserved at LSU’s premier hotel, the Cook Conference Center & Hotel. Please refer to “Kickoff LSU” when booking your room. The Cook Hotel is located at 3848 West Lakeshore Drive on the LSU campus. Please call 866-610-2665 or visit www.thecookhotel.com for reservations. If you are staying at the Cook Hotel, you will be picked up at 8:30 at the lobby entrance to be shuttled to the Union Theater for check-in.

Additional Information:
- Wear comfortable shoes as LSU is a walking campus
- Please let us know if anyone in your party requires any disability accommodations prior to the day of Kickoff LSU, by emailing admissionsevents@lsu.edu
- Depending on the forecast you may need a poncho, raincoat or umbrella
- For your convenience, a school excuse form will be provided to each registered student at check-in
- Bring a notebook and pen to write down any important information
- Bring a camera to take pictures of LSU’s beautiful and historical campus
