Volunteer medical professionals are needed at LSU to assist during post-hurricane efforts. Several types of doctors are needed – primary-care physicians, general-medicine doctors, internal-medicine doctors and family-medicine doctors. Also, nurses, respiratory therapists, wound-care nurses, nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants are needed.
All medical personnel wanting to volunteer should report to LSU’s PMAC to register. An employee of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, or DHH, will assist with registration. Medical professionals should bring their medical license, driver’s license and credentials.
Please be mindful of any city or parish curfews, as they even apply to volunteers.
LSU students, faculty and staff interested in volunteering, please complete the Volunteer
Registration Form. Please remember to take all necessary precautions and check e-mail, the LSU
Web site, and the local news for updates from the University. Your help is greatly appreciated.
