What to Bring
Please locate the type of orientation session you are attending to view a list of items you should have with you.
Spring Freshman Orientation; Summer Freshman Orientation; Freshman Orientation, Advising, and Pre-registration; and Spring Invitational
- A black ball point pen and several sharpened No. 2 pencils
- A non-graphing calculator for the chemistry and physics exams
- A booksack to carry belongings
- A picture ID (driver’s license) to allow you to take exams and be photographed for your LSU student ID
- Money for meals
- Instrument and music, only if you scheduled an audition with the LSU School of Music
- Reservation confirmation form (to be emailed upon receipt of payment)
- Parking permit (to be emailed upon receipt of payment)
Transfer Orientation
- A copy of your transfer evaluation of credits
- A catalog from your previous college or university
- Any additional course credit information that you may have from your previous college or university
- A booksack to carry belongings
- A picture ID (driver’s license) to allow you to take exams and be photographed for your LSU student ID
- Money for meals
- Instrument and music, only if you scheduled an audition with the LSU School of Music
- Reservation confirmation form (to be emailed upon receipt of payment)
- Parking permit (to be emailed upon receipt of payment)
Family Orientation
- Reservation confirmation (to be emailed to your student upon receipt of payment)
- Parking permit (to be emailed to your student upon receipt of payment and also to be emailed to any registered family members prior to the orientation program)
- A writing instrument (students should bring a black ball point pen and several sharpened No. 2 pencils)
- A tablet/notebook to take notes during Family Orientation sessions
- Something to carry materials/belongings
- Cash for meals and t-shirts (We will be selling LSU Mom and Dad t-shirts and “I Bleed Purple and Gold t-shirts for $10 each)
- Money to join the LSU Family Association or you can join online before you arrive at www.lsu.edu/familyassociation
- An umbrella
- A sweater or jacket (some of the meeting rooms vary in temperature)
- Comfortable shoes (LSU is a walking campus)
