Email and Other IT ResourcesPersonal Access Web Services (PAWS) Account PAWS is an individualized Web desktop that serves as the gateway to the University’s online billing, registration, payroll, and e-mail services. As a faculty member, you are eligible to obtain a PAWS account following acceptance of your new position and approximately two months prior to your appointment date. Your HR contact/departmental administrative assistant should be able to request an LSU Identification Number (89-XXX-XXX) and PAWS username and password for you using the LSU Quickstart application. Additional information regarding setting up a PAWS account will also be provided during HRM’s New Employee Orientation. MOODLE MOODLE (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment) is LSU’s Course Management System, which enables faculty members to manage their courses including: • viewing the class roster and communicating with students; For an overview of MOODLE, visit the LSU GROK MOODLE Portal. Faculty Technology Center The Faculty Technology Center, located in Middleton Library, Room 109, is dedicated to supporting faculty in their efforts to seamlessly integrate academic technologies into teaching, learning, and research. If you are interested in incorporating different types of technologies into your class(es) or research, drop by the center for assistance anytime between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday- Friday; contact the center by phone at 578-3375, option 1; or email the center at ftc@lsu.edu. Visualization Services Center The Visualization Services Center, also located in Middleton Library, Room 109, serves as the first point of contact for the visualization needs of students, faculty and staff at LSU. It is anticipated that through the training, user support and resource provisioning of the Center, the level of knowledge, skills, and interest in visualization tools and techniques will be greatly advanced among LSU students, faculty and staff.
