Benefits and Retirement

Most LSU employees are required to pay into a retirement plan, which is determined by your type of appointment. Moreover, if you are hired into a position for at least 75% effort (30 hours per week) and for at least 121 days (or one semester), you are eligible for all of the benefits LSU offers its employees.

Detailed information regarding LSU’s benefits and retirement plans is provided during the Office of Human Resource Management’s (HRM) New Employee Orientation. Additional information is also available from HRM’s Office of Benefits and Retirement.
