University Rules and RegulationsLSU Organizational Structure LSU, the flagship institution in the state, reports to the Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. The Board of Supervisors is established by Article 8, Section 7 of the Louisiana Constitution and is granted the authority and responsibility to “supervise and manage the institutions, statewide agricultural programs, and other programs administered through its system.” The University is administered by the LSU System Office, which also oversees 10 other institutions as well as 10 public hospitals located throughout the state. The University is directly overseen by the Chancellor, who is the chief administrative officer of the University and reports to the president of the LSU System. Reporting to the Chancellor is the Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost, who serves as the chief academic officer and chief operating officer. Under the leadership of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, the Office of Academic Affairs oversees the operation of the University’s 14 colleges and schools, academic planning and programs, budgets, facilities planning and construction, and personnel. Policy Statements (PS) LSU’s policies and procedures are available online in a series of Policy Statements (PS). University Policy Statements are established for the purpose of campus governance. They represent policies of Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College and are not binding upon other campuses of the LSU System and are subordinate to policies of the LSU System issued as Permanent Memoranda and to the by-laws and regulations of the LSU Board of Supervisors.
