Making History

Memorable moments in 2012

As 2012 comes to a close, we thought it would be a good opportunity to look back at some of the great accomplishments at LSU over the last 12 months.

At LSU, we strive for excellence in everything we do - in the classroom, in the research labs, on the fields of competition and in the community. It is what "Love Purple, Live Gold" truly means.

For the fifth consecutive year, LSU is ranked in the first tier for "Best National Universities" in U.S. News & World Report's 2013 edition of America's Best Colleges and we continue to make great progress in facility development that benefits students, faculty and staff alike.

We enjoyed the largest incoming freshman class since admissions standards were introduced in 1988 and we can boast of the most diverse student body in school history. Meanwhile, our graduate programs continue to improve and our faculty continues to contribute to award-winning research.

There are many great things to look back on in 2012, but we are also always looking forward to the future as we continue to strive for excellence every day at LSU.

We hope you enjoy the video below as we celebrate the successes of 2012 and look ahead to the new year.
