Information for Chapter Leaders

Alumni Chapter Leaders

Student recruiting is a fun, inexpensive way to get more members involved in your area alumni chapter. It is especially great for new, younger members looking for a way to establish themselves.

Here are few steps you can take to get your chapter more involved in the recruiting process.

  1. Designate a recruiting chair or contact to serve as liaison with our office. This person can help find volunteers to assist with college fairs but also can help distribute information about LSU recruiting events. Having a good recruiting chair is one of most crucial steps to establishing a solid recruiting base for your chapter.
  2. Keep an eye out for college fairs. Encourage members with children in high school to stay alert if a college fair is taking place in your community. Let our office know and we’ll coordinate participation in the event.
  3. If your chapter has any middle or high school teachers encourage them to join the Volunteer Network. We will be happy to provide them with brochures, decorations, and resources for their classroom and school to promote LSU.
  4. Host a summer send-off party. Our office would be happy to provide you with a list of students in the next potential class of tigers. Invite these students to an event where they can meet alumni and other students who are also on their way to beginning their studies at LSU.
