Dairy Science Scholarships
The following is a partial list of scholarships available to students interested in Dairy Science.  In most cases, the basis for selection is scholarship, leadership potential and related activities.  All scholarships are awarded annually and students must apply on a yearly basis.  Currently enrolled Dairy Science students who meet the minimum requirement (2.5 GPA) for scholarships will receive a letter from the Department Head in April inviting them to apply.  The value of some scholarships can vary depending on the amount of interest earned on the endowment, and students can receive more than one scholarship so that the minimum award for the academic year is $1,800.  Approximately 25 departmental scholarship awards of $1,800 each are available yearly.  Scholarship applications are due in the Department of Dairy Science by March 1.  Applications received after March 1 will be considered for any remaining scholarships.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

In addition to scholarships, many students receive financial assistance through employment opportunities in the Department of Dairy Science.  A number of students are employed every year to assist with research and operation of the dairy farm, the dairy foods processing plant, the Dairy Improvement Center , and in the nutrition, physiology and dairy foods laboratories.  In addition to helping meet college expenses, student workers gain valuable practical (hands-on) experience to supplement their classroom activities.  The experience gained as a student worker will give you an advantage over other students when entering the job market.
