Welcome to the Department of Dairy Science at Louisiana State University. 

We are here to serve the people of the State of Louisiana in the tripartite mission of the land-grant University.  This mission consists of teaching, research and service. We execute our teaching function through the College of Agriculture at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. We perform our research function through the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station at the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center. Our service efforts are in conjunction with the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service at the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center. 

MISSION STATEMENT: 

As the only comprehensive dairy science department in the southeast, our mission is the generation, dissemination, and application of basic and applied knowledge in dairy science to further the dairy industry and benefit the university and citizens of Louisiana and the nation.
