Diplomas will be available for pick-up 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., December 21, 22 & 23, then again January 4, 2010 in the Office of the University Registrar, Room 112, Thomas Boyd Hall. Candidates not attending Commencement should fax (225/578-5991) or email (registrar@lsu.edu) your full name and your mailing address to the Office of the University Registrar. Diplomas will be mailed on or near January 15. Please be aware that diplomas will be mailed only if students submit a written request. All candidates are expected to wear caps and gowns for both the main and diploma ceremonies. The cap tassel should be suspended over the left front of the cap. All candidates for graduation should pay all fees, fines and other obligations before December 14 at the Office of Bursar Operations, Room 125, Thomas Boyd Hall. Your diploma cannot be released until all financial obligations have been met. This is a requirement for graduation, and degree candidates should contact the Office of Bursar Operations (225-578-3357) if they have any questions concerning financial obligations to the University. Prior to graduating, students who borrow through the Federal Stafford Loan Program must complete an online "Exit Counseling" session at https://studentloantransitionguide.usafunds.org. Contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Student Aid at 225-578-3103 or financialaid@lsu.edu if additional information is needed. Transcripts may be requested via PAWS, mail, or fax. Mail requests to the Office of the University Registrar, 112 Thomas Boyd Hall, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70803; fax requests to 225-578-5991. LSU does not fax transcripts. Students may obtain copies of their transcripts only if they are not in debt to the University. Two free copies may be requested each day. If more than two copies are requested per day, the additional copies are $1 each. Requests must include the following: Student’s signature; the address to which the transcript is to be sent; student’s full name; Social Security number; date of birth; date of last enrollment at LSU; student’s mailing address. Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act of 1974 Students who have placed a hold on their records should be aware that their name will be withheld from any news releases (e.g., graduation lists, dean’s lists, university honors lists) as well as publication in the commencement program. Also be aware, that your name and home mailing address will not be given to the commencement ceremony photographer. If you would like to reconsider the decision you have made, please submit a written request to the Office of the University Registrar, Room 112, Thomas Boyd Hall by November 25. The Senior Celebration, sponsored by the LSU Alumni Association, will take place September 15 (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) and September 16 (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) at the Lod Cook Alumni Center. |
