Opera

LSU Opera, one of the first major university programs in the United States, has produced exceptional singers who have sung on world opera stages such as the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Houston Grand Opera. LSU Opera annually produces two main stage productions, fully staged, designed, costumed, and accompanied by the LSU Opera Orchestra, along with smaller shows and numerous outreach performance opportunities. In addition to private voice lessons with faculty, students receive extensive training in acting and stage-craft.

Experimental Music & Digital Media

The Experimental Music & Digital Media (EMDM) program addresses the emerging understanding that technology, computation and digital resources are profoundly changing the way in which we compose, perform, study and teach music. EMDM builds off this premise and engages students and faculty in cutting-edge research that borders between computer science, engineering, art, design and music. EMDM is closely aligned with the Arts, Visualization, Advanced Technologies and Research (AVATAR) Initiative of the Center for Computation & Technology (CCT) at LSU.
